Never in my life did I ever think I would care so much about what came out of someone else's butt!!! Haha people told me that being a mom means you will obsess about every little thing, but I didn't think they meant EVERY thing! Poor Cheyenne is constipated these days and while normally I personally get a laugh every time she poops because of the noises she makes, it's hard seeing her go through all that effort and not get any results =O)
A few days ago I started thinking maybe she was getting sick, because she was spitting up a good majority of her milk and she was such a CRANK POT!!!!! She was just miserable all the time! So we called the Dr and they suggested we cut back on how much milk we're giving her from 6 oz, to 4 oz. See, she went through a growth spurt a week or two back and she wouldn't eat anything less than 6 oz, and she still wanted that much so thats what we gave her. Apparently we were overfeeding her, we cut back to 4 and she's fine and not spitting nearly as much as she was before, and she's a MUCH happier baby now too! We also stopped giving her cereal at night, I think maybe it was too soon and that might have been bothering her belly also.
I had no idea that after the growth spurt was over you were supposed to cut back on how much they ate again, guess it was a rookie mistake. Anywho, so we're good on that front, but we also switched her formula back to Enfamil A.R. to see if that would help with the spitting issues, which it did, but now she's constipated... apparently, if you stop things from coming out of one end, it stops it from all ends haha.
So just got off the phone with Dr again, now they want me to give her some apple juice to see if that helps move things along...I can't imagine was kind of face i'm going to get when she tastes apple juice for the first time haha but I will definitely be recording it! Waiting now for daddy to come back home with it and see what happens.
So now most of my day will be consisting of waiting for Cheyenne to do her business and make sure all checks out... Who would have thought you'd care so much about poop!?!?!?! =O)
thats good to know about the growth spurt thingie!! good luck chey!!
