babyproofing

Why does it seem like no matter what you do to babyproof your house, there is always something you missed. I'm starting to realize that short or taking every decoration out of my house, there will always be something for Cheyenne to bump into, where there's a will there's a way!

I don't know if it's because my house is so small, or her toys are so big, but my house slowly went from a representation of Jason and I's style, to the beginnings of a daycare. Gone are our end tables, replaced with a jumper and exersaucer. Gone is our entertainment center, now covered in brown bumpers (Cheyenne's new hang out now that she realized she can pull herself up!) Magazine holder and craft supplies gone, replaced with more toys...

When we picked this house, we said to everyone, "Yeah its a little on the small side, but it's a good starter house for us. And besides, we're not going to stay here long, but its big enough that if we have a baby we'll still be ok." YEAH RIGHT!
Little did we know, not having any closet space would come right back to bite us in the ass. And our tiny little living room that once seemed "Cozy" now piled with baby toys looks more like the Sesame Street cast threw up in our living room.  And no matter how many times we clean, it goes right back to mess within a day. And Cheyenne isn't even able to walk yet!! Man oh man, am I in for it when she can walk!

Guess who's crawling?!?

Why didn't someone call me Sunday and say "Listen, tomorrow Cheyenne is going to start crawling, so pay attention, and take in the last part of this stage in her life, because tomorrow, it's all over"

I would have loved to know what was about to happen! There were no warning signs. Sure, she was bouncing on her hands and knees, and I know that's how it starts I just didn't think it would ever really happen... I thought I had a few more weeks ahead of me! Now, Cheyenne starts another stage of "babyhood" and while its really depressing that my tiny little baby is growing up, it's really exciting to see her get so excited about moving. I'm so proud of her!

I just got done babyproofing our entertainment center because she was hitting her head while rolling over to the tv... now I've got a whole new kind of babyproofing to do...

why does it go so fast??!?!?!

Up all night

Ughh... First night in the crib didn't go so well... Cheyenne was up every hour and a half to two hours, whether it was because she lost her binky, or got her leg stuck in the crib. I took her bumpers out because they aren't the breathable kind, so now I have to pick them up on my way home so that maybe she an I can get some sleep tonight! ...

... this is going to be rough... not for her, but for me!! I just laid her in her crib.. shes laying there watching her mobile spin around, and I'm standing at the doorway crying because she's getting much too big... Holy separation anxiety.... =(

bittersweet

Today is a day I've been wanting for a few weeks now, Cheyenne is going to be sleeping in her crib from now on.. I know I know... she should have been in there a long time ago, but there have been obstacles that kept pushing this back. But anyway, she's going in her room starting tonight, and even though I've been bugging Jason to get the window treatments done so I can get her in there and finally get my room back, now that the day is actually here... I'm a little sad. My little baby is going to be all alone in that room.. she wont be able to roll over and see me lying there next to her... I wonder if she'll even notice?

Up to this point she's been sleeping in her pack n' play next to my bed, and I was just about 6 inches away from her. Part of me really wants to go find another excuse that she shouldn't be allowed to sleep alone tonight.. but I know that we both need this to happen. She needs space away from mommy, and I need to be able to lay in bed at night and watch TV without worrying about it being too loud and waking her up. But I can't just lean over and check on her anymore... I want my little baybay back!! I'm having a little anxiety attack about it... can you tell?

But on the upside, now I can get my elliptical back, which is in my bedroom, and hopefully that will help speed this weight loss along. I've decided its no longer ok to weight almost the same amount as I did when I was 9 months pregnant, so I started weight watchers again. It worked wonders for me last time, and now I'm back at it again and so far doing great! I've lost 6 pounds in a week! I really can't weight to get back to my pre-pregnancy weight, and hopefully my pre-Jason body!! haha

I got an app for my phone now to update this so there should be some more regular posting going on, be sure to check back. I'll update on how tonight goes... that is... if I don't cave and bring Cheyenne back into my room with me =)

trying to crawl!!

Soooo.... Cheyenne was trying to crawl tonight!
This was about 10 min before she went to bed so needless to say she was a little cranky, I will have to try it again when shes a little more awake, but I think she did pretty good for a first timer! She just needs to figure out that she has to lift the top of her body along with the bottom! haha

catch up!

My gosh I can't believe its been over a month since I updated on here! So sorry!! So here's whats been going on lately!

Cheyenne is now sitting on her own! YAY!!
She started sitting on her own Memorial Day weekend!

I've said it before and I'll keep saying it... it is CRAZY how fast time is going by! In just 7 days Cheyenne will already be 6 months old! I can't even believe it!
It is surprising to say, but I think Cheyenne is starting to look a little more like me! I can't put my finger on it, it might be the eyes, but I'm very excited that I can see myself in her a little bit =) Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that she looks like Jason, but I like it now that she seems like a good blend of the two of us =)

Here is my baby pic, I'm not sure how old I am in this pic, I'd imagine somewhere around Cheyenne's age now:

I think especially in this pic she looks just like me - people that have seen me sleep will definitely agree with this! haha

For some reason the videos are taking forever to upload tonight so I will just upload this one.. This is my fovorite video of her, I'm considering putting it in to America's Funniest Home Videos haha, my favorite part is around minute 1:30... enjoy!

I had to compress the crap out of it to get it to upload quickly so I will post a better version of it when I get some patience for it

We have a roller!!!!

Ahhhh!!! I can't even begin to explain how happy and proud I am of our little boo boo!!! Today she rolled over for the first time!! And just to make sure I saw it right, I put her back on her stomach... and she did it again!!! Ahh!!!

What a fantastic gift she gave us for our anniversary! Today was our 1 year wedding anniversary, and its so hard to believe that last year at this time she was just this big!:

and now she's this big!:

It was so hard to watch her struggling to push the rest of her body over when she was trying to roll, I so badly wanted to just grab her legs and push them over so that I could show her how to do it, but I just sat back and let her do it on her own time and with the help of Daddy and Uncle Josh, sure enough she figured it out!!

I'm going to try to get a video of her doing it to post on here, but for now you'll just have to take my word for it =O)

Hello solid food!!

Today was Cheyenne's 4 month appointment! She now weighs 15 lbs 15 oz! She's 25 1/4 long. In the last 2 months she has gained 4 pounds and grew 3 inches! She's getting soooo big! They say that she is the height of a 6 1/2 month old, weight of a 5 1/2 month old and has the head size of a 7 month old!

We also tried giving Cheyenne solid foods for the first time! She got some bananas, and while she wasn't exactly sure what to think of them at first, not she cries if we don't get them in her mouth fast enough! She loves them!! I took some pics as I was feeding her to see her different reactions... At one point she actually grabbed the spoon out of my hand and brought it to her mouth herself! Albeit she was holding the spoon vertically but still! And the best news of all? It seems like giving her solid foods has practically stopped her spitting up!!! That alone is a blessing all in its own!
What in the world is this?!?!

Bananas!!
Here, just give that to me I'll do it myself!

Where you going with that?!

Give it back!
